Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Oncology Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our oncology team on a locum tenens assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for an advanced practice provider who is passionate about delivering high-quality, compassionate cancer care in a collaborative clinical environment.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, assess, and manage adult oncology patients in an outpatient setting.
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
- Order, interpret, and review diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
- Monitor patient progress and manage treatment-related side effects.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications
- Active California Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license.
- Board certification as an NP or PA.
- Previous oncology or hematology/oncology experience required.
- Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain prior to start).
- BLS certification required (ACLS preferred).
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient care skills.
