Job description

Position Overview:
We are partnering with a premier, mission-driven gastroenterology practice in Salem, Oregon, to find a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant (PA-C). This is a unique and dynamic role that offers a comprehensive mix of outpatient clinic care and inpatient/hospital responsibilities. The ideal candidate is passionate about providing high-quality, innovative, and cost-effective patient care while working in a collaborative, compassionate, and team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Care: Perform comprehensive patient histories and physicals, establish medical diagnoses, and develop individualized medical plans of care.
Diagnostics & Treatment: Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe and regulate medications, and issue orders for treatments and procedures.
Inpatient & Hospital Duties: Evaluate and treat patients in the ER and inpatient settings, conduct daily patient rounds, monitor changes in patient conditions, and write discharge summaries.
Collaboration: Work cooperatively with physicians, hospitalists, surgeons, and nursing staff to manage the hospital patient list and consult on complex cases.
Patient Education: Provide thorough health education and counseling to patients and their families.
Administrative: Maintain accurate and prompt EMR documentation, code visits accurately, and manage phone notes/flags in a timely manner.

Qualifications & Requirements:
Education: Master s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Licensure & Certification: Active Oregon Physician Assistant license (PA-C) in good standing. National certification (NCCPA) required.
Experience: Gastroenterology (GI) experience is highly preferred but not required. Experience in inpatient rounding, hospitalist support, or general surgery is a strong plus.
Certifications: ACLS certification is preferred.
Skills: Strong understanding of HIPAA, OSHA, and regulatory compliance. Excellent time management, multitasking, and communication skills.
Work Authorization: Must be willing to relocate to Salem, OR prior to the start date.
